To monitor your battery is like knowing how much fuel you have in your car.  the PMP battery monitor can be neatly installed in your vehicle and there for you as the user, will always know what is the status of your auxiliary battery. It does not only give the current voltage status , but offer much more in the sense that it gives you the estimated time of usage left on your battery. MXS –ALTERNATOR BOOSTER REGULATOR

Higher alternator current output  demand at lower RPM is becoming increasingly common requirement.  This is best solved by a special booster regulator. 
The MXS booster alternator regulator offers this and many other facilities, e.g.:   
In many vehicles, high power is attemptedly drawn from the 12V (or 24V) system, especially when the vehicle is being driven at a low speed.  Typical examples: The current drawn from the battery in such cases can be as high as 150A, whilst the alternator is only producing about 50A - due to the low rotational speed of the alternator.  The battery will support the load only until such time as the stored energy runs out.

WHY 3 STAGE CHARGING?

The MXS Booster alternator regulator delivers an increase in available energy which often goes hand-in-hand with charging batteries more frequently and more intensively. This cuts down on charging time by between 20-30% - depending upon the application.
THE DISTINCTION:  Practically all 12V or 24V alternators that are supplied with a propulsion engine by the manufacturer, are intended for charging starter batteries.              The maximum charging current is often limited to 50 / 60A whilst the voltage has been adjusted to a ‘float’ charging voltage.  This is a good point of departure for the starter battery, but not effective for charging auxiliary batteries. Due to the cycling conditions of the auxiliary battery, the best way to recharge the battery sufficiently in a short period of time is to offer increased charge voltage and to thus allow the battery to overcome internal resistance and this is the primary function of the MXS alternator booster regulator.

CHARGING METHODS

We supply HIGH AMPERAGE and High Power alternators (inclusive of MXS alternator regulator). Due to the cycling conditions of the auxiliary battery, the only way to recharge the battery sufficiently in a short period of time is to offer increased charge voltage and to allow the battery to overcome internal resistance.

There are Various Dual battery management systems , or battery isolator models on the market. Some use diodes, other use Contactors or Relays and some use solid state switching devices. Our experience however  showed us,  that the problem experience in the energy/power requirement fields of the4x4 industry is a little more complex then just a case of refitting another isolator to the system.

The shortfall on most dual battery systems boils down to the inability of the batteries  to accept full charge in either a short period or at a low recharge voltage level.  As a total solution to the dual battery management system, we focus on supplying a total combination in our dual battery system.

This dual battery management system look at the  recharge ability of the battery combined with the ability of the alternator to product such a power. We therefore offer a intelligent battery isolator  (Dual battery management unit) which have the ability to " talk " to the alternator which is driven by a special  regulator. The EBI150 (Isolator and battery management unit) and the MXS (Special alternator regulator) work together as a unity, but can also be operated independently.

• Battery isolators (Dual Battery 1management unit) ((EBI-150) are recommended in DC system with two or more battery banks that are functioning in an isolated position of each other.  The dual battery systems have to be installed between alternator or charger and the isolated battery banks.  The benefit of the solid-state battery isolators (Dual battery system)  is that the charge process for both batteries happens completely automatically without utilizing any mechanical parts. 
• The voltage drop is minimal between charger/alternator and battery, caused by the Mosfet of the dual battery management unit, and is  compensated for.

high power Alternators equipped with the MXS 3 stage regulator will  charge the correct way if the sense wires between the MXS and the battery poles are connected.  Any cable fluctuation will now be compensated for. The  EBI150 dual battery management unit Isolator gives priority charge to the lowest condition battery.
