POWER-TEK Vehicle Mount generators

 

The Power-Tek vehicle mount generator  unit, offers state of the art technology.  The product range which consist of both Single (one phase) and 3 phase units ( the option is also  available to  be installed  as PTO driven generator  or a  hydraulic driven generator - In most vehicles the complete system can be installed as a unique under the hood installation.

The Power-Tek generator , is typically used in applications such as Fire truck, Ambulances, government election vehicles, busses, boats  etc, Frankly any space where a conventional generator can be used, but at only a very small portion of the total weight of a normal power generator. The power-Tek vehicle mount  generator range is available in models ranging from 3kW AC power up to 8KW  in a single supply system.

The output frequency is a fixed value i.e. 50Hz/60Hz.  The output waveform is True  sine wave.  The unit output voltage distorts less than 4% with normal resistive load.  The output of the vehicle mount generators' AC  power is CTE (Centre tapped to earth) which means that the user is exposed to the lowest possible output AC voltage , which is a requirement with many EU countries. The range can operate from either 12v, 24v Battery voltage, AC = 115V, 230V, 380V, single and or 3 phase.

The range of Vehicle mount generators  units have been specifically designed for those applications where vehicle space and weight are of critical importance.

The vehicle mount generators units are all designed to optimize alternator and vehicle engine cooling whilst supplying constant power, irrespective of vehicle RPM.

Although the standard units do not offer host vehicle charging facilities, this can be supplied as an option for those applications where the  alternator is required to replace the original unit - it should be noted in many applications, especially in bigger trucks, where  PTO or Hydraulic systems are available - it is also possible to mount the Power-Tek as a PTO driven generator or as a Hydraulic driven generator.

GUIDE TO THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE MOUNT POWER-TEK GENERATOR

 The Power-Tek generator  is a microprocessor based inverter unit.  The specially wound high power alternator, generates a high voltage AC.  This is a mechanical to electrical conversion process.  The control module (CM rectifies the AC power and inverts it to regular controlled AC power.  The power output is limited by the high power alternator rotation speed, the alternator size and power transfer capabilities of the CM.  The Power-Tek vehicle mount CM is protected against overheating, overloading and low RPM.

 OPERATION OF POWER-TEK VEHICLE MOUNT GENERATOR

The Power-Tek  vehicle mount generator  operates only in one mode when it starts up. The different products in this range do offer welding, battery boost and a choice between 3 phase and or single phase power.

APPLICATIONS OF THE POWER-TEK VEHICLE MOUNT GENERATOR

 Power-Tek vehicle mount generator applications are widespread.  Typical applications are for example: Leisure buses, Stand Alone Generators, Fire Trucks, Camping, Liquid Transport , boats etc

Options  of Installations : ( The Power-Tek can be installed by using any of the following methods )

• Directly under the hood generator of the vehicle  engine, as a second alternator
• Directly under the hood generator on the Engine alternator as a third alternator
• Connect to the PTO of the truck to form a PTO driven generator
• Installed into the Hydraulic system, to act as a hydraulic generator
