The Unipower welder generator booster range and sister power  equivalent products are  available in the following  formats:

1. Unipower multifunction unit, which is a under the hood welder , generator, battery booster and a normal high power alternator for charging

UNIPOWER Multifunction -Layman's Guide to the operation

GENERAL

Unipower offers a wide range of Multi Functions.  It is defined as the Multi Function (MF) due to the various modes of operation under which it can operate.  The complete range offers as functions:

ö       Unipower Vehicle Battery Charger

ö       Unipower 12V Battery Boost Facility

ö       Unipower 24V Battery Boost Facility

ö       Unipower DC Welding up to 225A

ö       Unipower AC generator  up to 3.5kW AC  Power, 110v, or 230v

  The Unipower welder  unit’s main source of power is the vehicles alternator.  This high charge alternator is specially wound for this application and differs from a standard alternator.  In that is hand wound and contains, multi-winding configuration.  The winding configuration is to offer low voltage- high current and high voltage from the same alternator. The alternator regulator, as well as the diode bridge is strengthened to support the high demand of power required by the Unipower welder system. The alternator supplies the power directly to the Unipower Control Module (CM), which rectifies, controls, regulates and inverts this power to the required application. The 299 Unipower Welder  Generator and later ranges of products are all microprocessor driven and offer fault diagnostic software facilities.

HOST VEHICLE CHARGING Although it is  recommend that the Unipower welder generator unit be installed as a double up system [preferred] (fitted as an additional product), it is often not possible.  In such cases the UNIPOWER  MF unit is operating as the main vehicle alternator.  The UNIPOWER WELDER GENERATOR MF is also a High Charge Alternator  (or a High Power alternator) and thus offers exceptionally good charging facilities.

12V/24V BATTERY BOOST The Unipower  welder generator MF offers extraordinary Battery Boost Charging Facilities.  When selected to this mode of operation with 12v/24v boost, the voltage at the terminals is regulated.  The Unipower battery boost charging offer a slightly higher charge is offered.  This voltage is safe within the limits set out by vehicle manufacturers.  A quicker recharge of the battery is then enforced by the Unipower battery charger facility.

WELD The Unipower welder generator   Range of Products offers exceptionally good DC Welding Facilities.  The range varies from 150ADC to 225ADC.  Due to the characteristic operation of this product, welding options such as aluminum, stainless steel, reverse polarity, etc. are possible.

Unipower Welding is Suitable for:

a)     Manual metal arc up to 4mm

b)    Gas metal Arc, (MIG accessories required to be converted to constant voltage output).

c)     Flux cored are welding, (accessories required), self shielded wire up to 1.6mm

d)     Submerged Arc welding, (units can be connected in Parallel)

e)   Carbon-arc air Cutting or Gouging up to 4mm

 AC POWER (Unipower Generator) Depending on the model, the Unipower generator Range offers regular AC Power output (Quasi Sine).  The alternator is modified and is optimized for AC performance.  The CDC model differs from the AC models as it offers Chopped DC as high voltage output (pulse width modulation).
